PRS "dated" pickups

Has anybody tried the new (but not so new) PRS "dated" pickups? I'm talking about the 57/08s, 59/09s and 53/08s...

any thoughts or opinions on these? I've tried the 59/09s for a minute or two... and lets just say it didnt stay in my hands for too long. sounded thin and brittle to me. then again, maybe it was the guitar that it was in, a Custom 24.

Re: PRS "dated" pickups

They are pretty amazing across the board...they are as good as any high end or boutique pickup I have ever tried. Better than many.

PRS has upped their game BIG TIME.

People on the PRS boards have compared the 59/10 set to Duncan Antiquities.

I have a PRS with 245's which are PAF type pickups, and they're really nice.

+1 ... the stock pickups in my sc245 are also very good - no real complaints - smack in the middle of the PAF family

i havent tried the numbered PRS pickups so i cant comment directly

Yup! Big fan of the dragon1's, and the 57/08's....really clear, PAF pickups. That said, all my PRS's have 'duncan pickups in them. They are good...but they aren't going to replace my S-Deco's anytime soon ;)

Speaking of PRS's, to the OP: that is a beautiful white singlecut you are rockin' there!! Still have it?
