"PRS Designed" Tremolo Quality?

Got bitten by the GAS bug once again and have been checking out some PRS SE's. Digging the Tremonti and 245 series'. Are the trems solid? Return to pitch well? Etc etc?

Re: "PRS Designed" Tremolo Quality?

Haven't played those, though I know that the block and baseplate are separate, as it is with higher end PRSs these days also. The main question on the SEs for me would be the quality of tolerance between the knife edges and the notches in the pivot screws.

Drop in replacement: http://www.mannmadeusa.com/products/bridges/vibrato-bridges/2000-nos-prs-bridge/, the one that came on the old PRSs. One piece block/base plate, steel pivot screws etc. Red bronze is a type of very hard brass, fwiw. Pricey but worth it, imo.

Re: "PRS Designed" Tremolo Quality?

The only time I ever had a problem with my SE's tremolo was the period before I installed locking tuners. Before that, one dip and a few strings would be out of tune. Then again, I don't do crazy divebombs or anything, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I had an SE Custom 24 and the trem was great other than for the G string that was poorly strung. Even then, a slight pull up after a dive and it went back in tune.
