That blue one is sharp!! Not to hijack the thread, but since the door has already been opened.... Ive never been fortunate enough to be in a shop that has a variety of PRS' at one time so I can compare necks. And their descriptions leave alot to be desired. wide/thin, wide/fat, pattern this, pattern that.. I can assume that wide thin is wide across the board, thinner in the back, but can anyone give any comparisions or direct me to a place that does? Ive mentioned before that I did play one once that was a 24 fret neck, and it was amazing.. But I have no idea what model or neck carve it was. Thanks

No way, man. I could buy a decent bass, a nice 2x12 cab, a recording interface and lots of crap to make my apartment nicer/more comfy for less than what that guitar costs.
And I need/want all of that a lot more.
Sadly it won't happen anytime soon.

I love wide thin, or I think as it's called now pattern thin. My CU24 has the thin neck and I had a Tremonti with the wide thin. Both very comfortable guitars to play. I've played the wide fat and don't like it much, too fat/thick. I have never played pattern regular but think its similar to my Hamer which is very comfy too.
The PRS thin is not as thin as say my Jackson was, it's a bit rounder. It is not the thin flat of Ibanez, which I just don't like. More Charvel/Fender like, and now that I think about it probably close to my old Charvel Pro Mod that I use to own. That's the best way I can describe it. Great necks.

These observations are made from the necks on my guitars:
I had three (now two) Warmoth FAT necks: Pretty much same shape but different dimensions. One huge (now sold), one big, one like a bigger '59 shape.
I have two PRS guitars with WideFat necks: The McCarty's WF is thicker than the SE's Singlecut WF.
The '59 neck profile of the Gibson ES-330 '59 RI I have is closer (in dimensions) to the SE Singlecut neck profile. McCarty's neck is thicker than the Gibson too.
The Warmoth '59 is thicker than the PRS SE, closer to the McCarty still not the same.
It's interesting to check the Wildwood site, they measure and post dimensions of most of the guitars they have for sale. You won't find two necks with the same dimensions even from the same model. This stands for every guitar company they have in their shop.
This will only happen when necks will be made 100% by machines. If a person makes the final sanding no neck will be the same with the previous or the next one and variations will exist.

They are intriguing for sure! I borrowed a friend's McCarty and that was what finally interested me in PRS. I had played a few gorgeous examples (USA made), but they left me wanting more. The McCarty was perfect; the neck shape, the pickups, and build quality. I really want to try the new S2 line to see if they will fill the niche. The S2 Customs use the SE hardware, whereas the Singlecut the OP tried uses the same bridge found on their core line of guitars. If it were me, I would go for the Singlecut.
