PRS SE CU24 Help

Hi, I'm new to this forum and could use some wisdom: I have recently purchased a 2013 PRS SE CU24. I really like the instrument but have decided to replace the stock humbuckers with a Seymour Duncan SH-1n '59 / TB-16 '59 ( 4- conductor) set. The PRS has a 3-position blade selector switch and a tone pot controlled push-pull for coil splits. Are there any special procedures necessary for installing these new SD pickups? The wiring diagram at the SD website is less than totally informative. Also is there anyone who has info about the wire color comparison between the stock pickups and the SD's ?
Thanks

Re: PRS SE CU24 Help

Welcome to the forum.

As explained in the Seymour Duncan installation instructions, the SD convention is black = output, red/white = series link and coil split, green = pickup ground, bare = screening ground.

By comparison, the PRS SE pickups will almost certainly be three con + shield.

The three-way lever selector switch and pots will need to be configured like a Telecaster circuit. Since you are upgrading, there is an argument for changing to a more sophisticated selector switch in order to get more pickup coil permutations and, hence, more sounds.

Ignore the pickup shapes. Concentrate on the wiring. http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=tele_2hum
