PRS SE Singlecut

Re: PRS SE Singlecut

I have an SE Standard with the same wrap around tail piece. Intonation is compensated and seems to be pretty accurate. I haven't got any intonation problems with mine.

Re: PRS SE Singlecut

Only gotta worry about intonation with one of those if you start using really heavy strings, or tuning to weird alternate tunings, etc.

Standard tuning, one half step down, and drop D's all good on my paul reed smiths.

Re: PRS SE Singlecut

yeah the official line from PRS is IT IS COMPLETELY PERFECT AND FLAWLESS SO JUST DON'T WORRY DUDE

as somebody who hates playing with 9's and can barely stand 10's, that bridge that's perfectly compensated flawlessly for 9's and 10's is a deal-breaker for me. I wouldn't want a set-neck mahogany-body singlecut with humbuckers if i couldn't set it up for C-standard if i wanted.

that said, it is definitely built solidly so if you're just looking for a good guitar and you play normal strings like everybody else, you might like it. the PRS neck and scale length is sort of love / hate too but those who love it tend to forsake all others for it.

Re: PRS SE Singlecut

I've heard that PRS will discontinue the SE models. Better get one if you're on a tight budget for a great guitar.

Re: PRS SE Singlecut

I have a PRS SE Custom and the intonation in Standard and Drop D is top notch. I have 11s on it and I don't have any problems, tho the nut slot for the low E is quite tight... Anyways, it is OK in Drop C, but you definitly see that it is not as great as Standard tuning, I can't wait to get an other guitar so my PRS would be the Standard tuning guitar, it really is an amazing guitar with decent stock pickups.

Re: PRS SE Singlecut

I have an SE One and an American "pre lawsuit" Singlecut. Two different renditions of the same bridge design. No intonation problems on either instrument.

Apparently, if you want to change to huge string guages, PRS recommends a version of the bridge with a different compensation profile.

Re: PRS SE Singlecut

About the only PRS guitars I like....
They feel like guitars, and not furniture with strings.
The thinline semihollowbody is my fave, those I want one of;)
Haha yeah I want a PRS...lololololol

Re: PRS SE Singlecut

had one...intonated fine...but...why pay $620 when you can get a used one for about $300?

Re: PRS SE Singlecut

I have the SE Custom Soapbar, and the semi-hollow, both with stoptail bridges.
I use 10's, they sound and play fine- had to widen the nut a bit on a few of the strings, but no problems.
