PRS SE24 Replacements

Re: PRS SE24 Replacements

Yes, of course, they do ...

BUT

... if you wanted greater sonic variety, it would be easy to upgrade to a five position selector switch and gain two extra sounds.

Well now, that's a thought. Confession though I'm like a bull in a china shop with soldering so I'll be taking it to a tech for switch the pups. If it's not too much more I'll go with the 5 way. Never even considered that as an option. Cool.

Re: PRS SE24 Replacements

There is a circuit that is commonly offered on Ibanez HH electric guitars. It involves a twenty four contact Superswitch. For your guitar, the selections would need to be reversed, giving;

5 - Neck HB only
4 - Inside coils (fake Stratocaster "in between" sound)*
3 - Both HBs
2 - Bridge HB only (coils in parallel)
1 - Bridge HB only (coils in series)

* This is the same sound that you currently get with both HBs selected and the push-pull switch up for coil split.

If you go for a selector switch circuit like this, the push-pull switch can be put to another use.
