I heard it's cheaper at MF and sweetwater.
I have it and it's nice. More lower mids than other Marshalls. Not too loud for low volume practicing.
+1
Even at low volume, the 2555 sounds really good; it just sounds better when opened up a bit.
That's odd. Marshall almost never discounts their best products.
Man, I'd be p!ssed if I'd bought one for $1900+
I hope they don't reissue the 50W 2550, because I have an original I don't want devalued. However, it would be a smart amp for them to sell because it splits the difference between the 20W and 100W.
My 50W 2550 seems less loud than my 50W 2204.
IMHO, the originals do not devalue cause of a reissue. One thing I am missing in my arsenal which I always wanted is a 'Hot rod Marshall.' I think the Jubilee is one? Best I can do is a pedal through my old original 2203...sure, that's a classic late 70's heavy metal sound, but still not a mid-late 80's hot rodded circuit Marshall. I'm, still waiting for someone to modify my Traynor Plexi circuit. Not exactly certain what the difference is between a hot rod Plexi and a Hot rod JCM800, but either would suit be fine.
And with Leo not even being a musician, it's amazing those two are the iconic amp brands.Jim was actually a drummer, ironically.

FWIW, My Sweetwater rep sent me an email today. 2555x ARE discontinued by Marshall. They get their last shipment next week.
