Psalterium Vol. 2

Our church released a 5-song EP called Psalterium back in 2010, made up of songs written by people in the church. The idea was to take Psalms and put them to original musical arrangements, keeping as true to the text as we could. The response was great, and it was a fun project. You can see my thread on that project here

We're about to release a followup EP on March 8, and I am *super* excited about this one. This will be more of a rock record, and I think it sounds quite different from a lot of the Hillsong clones that are out there now. I'll post some preview tracks when they're available, but for now you can check out the artwork:

I had a fun pile of gear to use this time around. I had my two telecasters, one "standard" and one with P90s, plus I borrowed a friend's Les Paul. For amps I had my 65 Amps Memphis and '64 Fender Bandmaster, plus a borrowed Orange Rockerverb 50. Cabs were my Avatar 2x12 with V30/G12H30 mix, and a Geezer 1x12 with a Cannabis Rex. I didn't use a lot in the way of pedals, just a Fulldrive 2, Strymon Mobius, Boss DD-20, and TC Hall of Fame reverb. I wound up playing a lot of rhythm on this record, where last time I pretty much only played the lead/fill bits.

Re: Psalterium Vol. 2

Here's a preview of Psalm 20. This is probably the most ambitious tune on the disc. Middle-eastern feel, gang drums, and a huge outro!
