PU Cover Removal

I used to have a northern ash tele and it was my heaviest guitar. Folks were very surprised when they picked it up. I always told myself it had better tone because of it lol

The heaviest Tele I ever played was Walter Becker's all-rosewood one. I was ready to buy it back in the 70s; sounded great, but was just too hefty. Never got an exact weight (we didn't use scales to weigh guitars back then, at least I didn't and I don't think Walter did either, though I didn't ask). Still, it was noticeably heavier than my new LP Custom - a '76 which was no lightweight.

And it is back - screw pieces removed via a small flathead screwdriver and hammer. No dowelling was involved.

All up $23 for the strings and a replacement switch I didn't ask for, but I still appreciate because what was originally in there looked cheaper than the broken screws.

Which screws did they break? Did they explain how it happened?

I broke a screw off in my 10 lb Tele but it was my fault. One of the screws wasn't sitting in the pickguard countersunk hole correctly so I attempted to tighten it a little more so it did sit correctly. And I snapped the head off. Apparently it was already as tight as it could get lol

The two screws holding the control plate were broken, their explanation was they broke. After three weeks I didn't really care, I just wanted it fixed.

I imagine the situation was similar, but they were in all the way before I took them out. I always make a point of prepping the guitar before having work done.
