PU selection for a solid body 12 string?

Im restoring / modding a solid body 12 string electric. Im not well versed in pickup selection and would appreciate suggestions. I plan to use only the bridge space and will cover over / fill in the neck spot.

The correct pickup should be bright enough to get the nuances of a 12 string without over driving the amp. In an ideal world I would get rid of the tone adjustment entirely - just solder in a resistor at the correct level for a mid-level tone.

Suggestions?

What amps will you be using? What kind od guitar is it? Is it routed for humbuckers, or single coils?
