Pulled this today

Re: Pulled this today

Nice! Thats an early Jazz neck, aka John Milner model. I havent seen an oval label in a long time and man that thing is in excellent condition!
Does itnhave the bridge model as well? (JMB)

Re: Pulled this today

It was in the neck of a mahogany tele that I got for $125 back in the early 90s. I still have that pickup and the neck, the rest was sold a few years ago. It went right intyo the explorer ssnd was just pulled again today. Im judt trying to figure out what to ffo with it now.

Re: Pulled this today

Thats awesome! What bridge pup were you using with it in the Explorer? So, you sold the Explorer...did you replace it with something else already, or is that what youre trying to figure out?

I bought a Kauer Banshee a couple weeks ago, time to downsize a bit. A few amps, guitars and some PA gear is all headed out the door. I think my LTD strat is going to meet the router and the custom/jazz combo from the explorer are going to go into that.

Re: Pulled this today

Ive never heard of Kauer before, so I googled them and I saw a really nice single pickup (tv-jones I think??) Banshee done in sonic blue that was really nice! Those seem to be rather expensive guitars, but built very well.

I like your LTD Strat idea, I think it will like meeting your router. Haha
What color is yours?

The LTD is one of the black relic models. I cringe a little bit at the faux wear, but it plssys pretty well, so I can live with it. The Kauer is a dark green burst, hard to tell if it isn't hit with bright light.

Re: Pulled this today

I was thinking the same thing really, like 1977-79-ish...
From what Ive read online Seymour wound the initial JM and JB pickup for Beck's Tele-Gib which Jeff played on his 1975 album "Blow by Blow."
Not sure when it became an over the counter prescription but 1977 is a really good starting point.

Either way, very rare and very cool indeed.
