Pulling tubes

On my JCm 900. If I pull the outer tubes do I have to adjust anything else? Speaker ohms? I do not like the half power mode. Just wanting to turn the master up a little more. I am running 2 16 ohm speakers to make 8 ohms.

supposedly, you're supposed to treat it as if your speaker load is half the impedence that it actually is. so if you're using a 16 ohm cabinet, use the 8 ohm setting on the amp, or if you have an 8 ohm cabinet then use the 4 ohm setting on the amp.

i've been running my dual rectifier this way for the past year and a half and no problems so far.

Another question. The ohm switch is weird. 2 option 8 or 4 (16). How can that be. Here is the handbook http://www.marshallamps.com/downloads/files/4100 Hbk.pdf
