Pup setup for double fat strat

In a friend's Fender standard double HH MIM strat we're thinking about having an Invader in the bridge and Jazz model in the neck....what do you guys think?? He'll be playing hard rock, punk, and pop.

I got a Sh-6 (distortion) on bridge a sh-2 (jazz) a sound great very balance, I try once with the invader one a there's a lot of Bass & feed back,

Sh-6 + sh-2 x effect = great sound  :arms:

I thought the JB would sound too bright in such a bright instrument like the strat with 500k pots. Am I wrong?

Sounds great in mine (ash body, rosewood neck). Not too bright at all.

I understand the popular taste for a JB is with a 250k tone pot. How does the whole process work to change a pot? Are they expensive? It is necessary to change the volume pot as well (keeping in mind on a strat it is shared with the neck pup)?

No problems, even though the CC has a little less bass it is way more controllable. I got to turn up a little louder then usual because the CC is heavy in the midrange which in my Strat makes it sound more like a snarling SG.

Wicked, thanks man. There's no change from the 500k pots when using the CC right?

Right - 500K pots. I have a CC in my mahogany SStrat (wilkinson tremo) - a bright guitar, and I tried a few bridge pickups, the CC was a good combination of power, articulation and NO ICEPICK.

I like the CC's ability to rock out when you need it. And you can turn it down & get some sweet sounds.

You asked about metal, well I'm no metal master but some times I'll use a high gain setup - TS9 or treble booster + distortion box or into a highgain amp and it sings loud & sweet...got the kind of response you can legato all day on. Has enough bass for impact and I'll even strip some off with the treble booster. Good match with the jazz. Let me know if you want a higain clip I could do one up for you (PM me).

Make sure you put in a coil splitter - CC is great split, BTW.
