Most of us are here due to our love of pick-ups. I'm guessing it's part of it anyway.

So, it got me wondering ... has anybody here made their own winder .. and if so .. care to share how you did it?

I've got the itch to make one and I'm try'n to gather a bit more info.

I've seen the lollar book and fralin vid. should I just buy em and get it overwith?

Thanks ~G

There was an article about winding your own pickups in a guitar magazine about a couple of weeks ago, i'll try and find it and scan it for ya or something, the guy made a winder out of a load of basic stuff, the main part was a sewing machine motor.

Yeah, think it was Guitar (A UK one), I'll post it (scanned copy) once I find it, I'll have a look once I get home.

i considered it, then decided i would leave it to seymour and friends! Doesnt it involve old record players and a lot of time from what i recall?!?!

I'm sure that'll cost ya' some change from that company.

Well, how much is your time worth? I'd rather not spend days building and tweaking something that's already been invented and is available and built to work right from the get go....

Why reinvent the wheel?
