Pup X Carvin Ct6M

I got this gtr in may 05 , the bridge pup is ok (C22), but I DONT like the neckpup,think it is a C22-N it is really bassy , the GTR is mahogany w/maple top-ebony board-22- stainless frets- TOM bridge-- i play ROCK - southern Rock hard rock . any suggestions ? IT has a coil tap push pull, i would need wiring info... also has anyone changed their carvins to duncans ? BTW....... I LOVE THIS GUITAR, it almost plays itself.............. thanks , rammer

As someone who works for Carvin, I've played every guitar & pup combo we
offer. I've never heard anyone say that the C22N was too bassy but whatever. My personal favorite Carvin neck humbucker is the M22V. It's the brightest of all our neck pups & doesn't sound muddy. This is the pup you should use in combination with the C22B pup.

I agree with you about how great the California Carved top is. It's the best selling guitar we've ever made. It's going to be my next guitar, I'm placing a custom order for one soon.:usa1: :usa1: :usa1:

I have a carvin ct6 with the same exact specs, hell i even ordered it the same month you did as well, its a great guitar. but i have tried a few carvin pickups and i honestly hate the hell out the them. I put a APH2 in the neck and a custom custom in the bridge and the guitar comes alive. I mean it really sings and the neck pickup sounds so amazing. It just beats the hell out the carvin pickups. The guitar is just amazing with duncans in them
By the way what are you playing through?

HI FUSION, THANKS for the reply, I ordered my CT6M march 15, i had a hard time deciding between the blue quilt- black quilt- or tigerburst, i went W/blue quilt, the back & neck are also blue, NO BINDING & no fret markers...anyway somehow CArvin screwed up & painted mine the wrong color,( at least thats what they told me) so they had to build me another one, hence the reason i got mine in May.DID you get different pup rings for the Duncans? or modify the carvins ? Also i need info on what you did for the wiring, What color did you get ? as for the Amp I'm using, i switch back & forth between a VHT 50 CL PITTBULL- & a 5150 head depends on my mood , but i LIKE both of them, oh & thru a 4x12 cab............ BTW, if i hit the lotto, I WILL GET the tigerburst & black quilt ...............rammer

im not a big fan of the carvin pickups either, the c22b that came with my carvin seemed, well, just lifeless. i cant really remember what in particular i disliked about it. the super distortion sounds better, but still not exactly what i want. i LOVE the clean sound of the HFH but cant get much sustain out of it, which is weird considering i got a neck through... im thinking of getting an air norton/tone zone combo next.

I actually got the tiger-eye on flame maple, and i went a head and got new pickup rings for the guitar when i got the duncans, the wiring diagram that i think is correct is here http://seymourduncan.com/support/schematics/2hum_vol_tone_3way-w-split.html but u can double check with quite a few different people on the forum. Carvin pickups are just lifeless and after i stuck in the duncans it just came alive.
