P'ups for a Super-Strat?

Hey guys!! What's new?

I just bought a new Charvel Pro Mod. A white So-Cal. It stock with distortions, which I dig, but their a little too toppy in this guitar. I know the JB is the go-to, but I wanna go over any other options.

So yeah, first pick is the JB. Tried and true. But, Jazz or '59 for the neck?

Or, JB2. How is that? This guitar is my metal machine, so I want it tight, but I don't necessarily have a "metal" tone, nor am I trying to cop anybodies tone, so I don't know if that'll work for me or not. I'd probably go A2P or '59 with an A2 with that.

Or how 'bout a CC? How does that fair, chugga chugga wise, in a super strat? Same neck pickup choices.

I been wanting to try the custom shop '78 for awhile too, bridge and neck, but again, I'm not trying to emulate anybodies tones.

How would a UOA5 sound in the JB or CC? What magnet in the neck pickup generally works well with those in the bridge?

Thanks for the tips guys.

CC's are at their best in Strats and bright woods (they tend to be pretty warm and loose in mahogany). CC's (or any of the Custom family) are very good with an UOA5. I was the first guy here to do it, and it has a lot of A2 texture and dynamics, but a little sharper high-end than a CC. More 'vintage' sounding than a C5. Cuts thru nicely. UOA5's are also popular here in JB's; dials down the notorious 'upper mids', and fills in the middle some. A '78 is a great idea too. You're headed in a nice direction tone-wise.
