PUPs for an SG

Currently I have been improving quite a bit on guitar, and thought that "Hey, my tone is reallly dull".
I want a setup for PUPs that can play anything from blues to jazz to punk to hard rock.
Currently I was looking at a '59 at the neck and an SH-5 at the bridge, what do you guys think?

That's a good set, on the bright side at the bridge (ceramic magnet), which is fine if you like to load on the effects. For blues & rock the C5 has a little more of that good old alnico color and character. Better cleans and it rocks with overdrive. A '59N is nice paired with it. Depends on which way you're leaning in your music style.

There's a million threads about this (one of which I started I must admit!).
C5 bridge. Jazz neck.

I think a lot of people (myself included) will recommend a '59 or Jazz in the neck, and a JB or C5 in the bridge. Those are fairly balanced and versatile combinations.

Or you could show your true rock side and go with a set of P-90s. :)

That combo covers alot of territory. Thats what I have in one of my SG's. The '59 will cover your blues/jazz turf while the Custom gets it with punk and Metal. Both pickups are scooped enough in the middle to let the SG's mids balance out the EQ.
