Pups for metal Strat?

Hi all, I've got a 2004 MIM Standard Strat HSS that I'll be converting to an all rock/metal guitar. What would be your suggestions for pickups? only one rule: No active pickups, i don't want to mess with batteries

I wouldn't want to play only one type of rock/metal, just rock/metal in general, like Metallica, Three Days Grace, Judas Priest, old Ozzy, Bloodsimple... the list goes on.

i'm thinking about a JB in the bridge. as for the middle and neck, i was thinking hot rails for middle and either cool rails or a little 59 in the neck for when i need to go clean.

what do you all think? i haven't decided on an amp to go with it, either. was thinking about a VK 112.

I would recommend Invader - that's what i have now, Fullshred - what I wanna try to have a bit more of liquidity and more pick dynamics, 59, I had a Pearly Gates Plus and have been told that it is a lot closer to 59 than to an actual PG, it was good just a bit too clean for me. But if you want Metallica, Ozzy, Priest its invader time, that thing is a monster and that's what James had in his V on the entire MOP.

Hey Shadowrunner, welcome to the forum. I have a HotRails in the bridge of my Strat and I love it. Another option for a bridge pickup instead of the JB would be a DiMarzio Super Distortion. Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden still uses it in his Strat/Jacksons.

Dimarzio Super D bridge, SD Duckbucker or Dimarzio Virtual Vintage 2.1 middle and a JB Jr neck.
