pups for slide guitar

i have a g&l invader - think double fat strat - with alder body, maple/rosewood neck and asat style hardtail - i am setting it up for slide guitar playing - local guitar gurus and info from forums advise a2 pups -
thought about phat cats but no f-spaced bridge available (mine measures 53 mm at bridge) - back to humbuckers, how would ap II n and pg tb work ? any other combos i should consider ?

doveman -

thanks for the reply and the slide tones...i was a little surprised how sweet the 59n sounded (isnt it a5 mag?)

Re: pups for slide guitar

yep ... A5s make a great slide guitar sound ... in my opinion ...

The '59n, 59b & 498T are all A5s ... only the A2P is A2 in this test. This is a new guitar ... my main slide guitar for years is a '80 Yamaha SA2000 which is also an A5 at about 8k/9k range. You can listen to several slide cuts on it at the link in my signature, as well.

Good luck

I use a 59n in my Tele for slide. It's a great choice when tuned to Open G.

i found out that phat cat f-spaced bridge pup is available from duncan custom shop - long wait and high cost are prohibitive - maybe they will become avialable in future if demand grows ...
