Pups on the way for new heritage cursing the Dimarzio trademark now

Hey guys it's good to be back glad to see things still the same around here.

I bought a Heritage 150 (LP style) last week with a nice top for $750 a true steal! I called John at blackrose the next day and got my new pups on the way I ended up with a jazz bridge pup for the neck and a JB for the bridge. He was the one who suggested the jazz bridge for the neck b/c I told him I am constantly scared of muddy neck pups.

They have covers on top unfortunately b/c of the stupid Dimarzio trademark on the dbl creme. I also ordered a tone pro's bridge and tailpiece. I'm excited this guitar is everything I THOUGHT a LP should be. I'll keep you guys updated.

Re: Pups on the way for new heritage cursing the Dimarzio trademark now

I'd love to see it. I just ordered a 150 a couple months ago (for about double what you paid by the way). I got the CC and AP2 in the order along with the tonepros bridge. Of course, I probably have another month or two before I get the thing, so I can't compare for you. Please let me know what you think of your pickup choices. I have had guitars with the jazz/jb combo and it didn't really click with me (might have to do with my rig though), but i would like to hear what your impressions in a heritage are.

I signed.

What I don't understand is how DiMarzio can trademark a design that Gibson made years before DiMarzio was making pickups???

Re: Pups on the way for new heritage cursing the Dimarzio trademark now

DiMarzio got the double-cream trademark based on a claim of exclusivity in commerce. Same way WD Music Products acquired a trademark on the age-old lipstick tube pickup design.

Same lawyer, BTW...
