PUR Pickup Winding Wire

Hi, asked a wire company to send me info re 42AWG wire for winding a pup. All they sent was that they had PUR wire and the price. What does PUR stand for and is it better than enamelled wire to solder. Any hints on soldering it would be appreciated. Does PUR stand for polyurethane?

Thanks jeremy. The company involved only seem to like telling you in emails that they have it and the price. Lots of emails regarding tech stuff go unanswered for days.

Hi Jeremy, they dont have site where they discuss wire but from my enquiries around different places, it appears that the PUR indicates it is coated in polyurethane. Seems that in Australia you can get Polynylon coated,Polyurethane and enamelled. Formvar not available.
