I'm not fam w/ the BBQ (hear alot of good things about them though), but a Super D can be kind of "thin" sounding. Depends on the guitar. In a *good* Les Paul, me likey. Never tried one in a V/SG/Explorer, but compared to a 500T they generally have less low end and are a bit brighter.
To my ears, the 500T is kind of a combination of a Duncan Custom and Super Distortion. A bit compressed and bright like the Super D, but with some of the low end balls of the Custom.
