Push back wire and shielded wire

Am i the only one that hates this crap?
I'm building a harness to replace the pcb in my SG. The kit has pushback wire but not like pushback wire I remember. It has an inner layer and when you push it back the inner layer dont push back and ya gotta fumble with it and end up with a fuzz ball at each conection looks like crap.
Maybe im just being a grumpy old man. Now that my eyes are getting weak i get royaly irritated soldering. I used to mod my amps and pedals and fix electronics. Now i cant even wire a frickin guitar pot....ugh

i know the wire you are talking about, and yeah, its not the same as the old stuff. i did buy a few spools of modern good stuff a few years ago, but i cant remember where

I'm thinking this stuff from Guitar Electronics is what you're looking for. I'm pretty sure it's where I got mine. But its been awhile since I ordered any.
