Push pull using the tone

Hi
I'm going to buy a tapped Custom SSL-5 for my strato. I'd like to use a push pull switch and I found this wiring diagram:

http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=1h_2s_1v_2t_5w_pp

I'd like to use the second tone as a switch and not the volume. Referring to the above diagram is it possible to simply move the push pull switch from the volume to the second tone and make the same connection?
In this case should I solder the green wire to the tone pot while the black wires of the other pick ups are soldered to the volume pot?
As I'll use the Custom together with the Fender pick ups I should reverse the black and white cables on the S.D, shouldn't I?
Thank you for your advises

Re: Push pull using the tone

greetings! the black, green, and bare wires still go where they would be reguardless of where the push pull switch is. you do need to reverse the leads though, you're right about the fender/SD phase thing:D

Re: Push pull using the tone

If you've got 250K Tone pots, you'll want a 250K push/pull, unless you don't mind the 500K pot for Tone.

Re: Push pull using the tone

Sorry if I repeat myself but electronics it's not my best..
So...
I have to solder the green wire to the volume pot.
I have to solder the red wire to the middle pin of the push pull (on the tone pot)
I have make a bridge between the first two pins of the push pull
I have to make a connection between the first pin of the push pull and the tone pot.
Probably it's obvious for you but I'm a complete beginner...

I have a second question, if I can. I've got a Classic Player 50 Strato and when I put the switch on the second position the neck and bridge pick up work together. I would prefer to have the standard connection between neck and middle, what should I change?

Thanks again

Green and Bare wires to back of pot
Red and White wires to push/pull
The bridge shouldn't be necessary since the red and white aren't crossing the switch
Push/pull switch to pot casing

Re: Push pull using the tone

Regarding your second question... you probably flipped out the switch. Look carefully to the diagram and see at what side is represented the lateral plate of such a switch. Review what is soldered there in THIS position. The wiring of the switch isn't mirrorable!.

I don't know why, the classic player 50 is done this way, I checked on Fender web site too....
