Push/Pull v.s. Push/Push

hey guys, could someone explain me what's the difference and how both work (mechanically, what you do to switch)

Electrically they're the same. Mechanically, the push/pull works by pushing it in and pulling the knob out.

The push/push toggles its state with each push. Kinda like the on/off switch of a home stereo.

The push/push has the advantage of ease of use, the push/pull has the advantage of being able to tell what position its in at a glance.

The push/push I had on my old Yammies had a different pos'n for each setting, it would sit prouder when switched, so you could still tell at a glance what pos'n it was in. I'm looking at getting a push/push for my Legacy to carry out the bridge/middle series mod you drew me Artie. It's easier for me to use push/push cos my hands'll slip on a push/pull strat type knob.

Thats good to know. I've never actually had a push/push in my hand. I find push/pull's awkward to use also.

I wish it was like that on my Ibanez..

I'm pretty used to push pulls though, so I guess I'm not really arsed at the end of the day. I have the knurled metal knobs on my axes with push/pulls so they're easy enough to grip

I played an old Yamaha that had a push/push pot, and when I had an EMG 89 it had a push/pull. The push/pull is a lot less convenient and awkward so I decided to go with a push/push for the onboard JFET booster I'm having made.

The push/pull is a lot easier with the knurled knobs. I definatly prefer the push/push. I'm hoping they're all similar to the 1's in my old Yammies.
