I was planning to put a Phat Cat in my Squier Telecaste Special to balance better with the Strat single, but as luck would have it GC was sold out. So I went with the 59n instead as they were out of Pearly Gates. It went in without a hitch and balanced well with the Alnico 5 Strat pickup. I found it a little bright and boomy, and adjusted the springs to get a better balance. I am very satisfied with the vintage and balanced sound I get now. Not that I'm against loud pickups. I plan to make one of my Strats a metal monster.
