Putting an order through with Wymore, need one more bit of help

Hey guys,

Below is a picture of my strat. I am having trouble deciding if I need the trem or the humbucker in the bridge. When I measure from E string to E string, it is SLIGHTLY over 2" not by even a millimeter I would say. GC put a SH-6 in for me years ago, so I know the SH will work, but do I want the Trem?

I am going with a 59n zebra 4 conductor, and Custom Custom zebra and really itching to pull the trigger!

Appreciate the help!!

Trembucker polepiece spacing should line up better with your strings than the traditional "G" brand spacing that you have at present.

Soundwise it probably doesn't matter, but a Trembucker would line up better. Keep in mind that a Trembucker is slightly wider (by about .100 of an inch) than a regular humbucker, so you may have slightly modify your pickguard for it to fit.

I'm having my guitar teacher install this. I need to buy a new pickguard in black. Should I go warmoth or get a plain one to cut? What's the difference betwen 1 and 3 ply.

Order the pickguard from Warmoth. Make sure that you specify "Humbucker" for the neck pickup, and "Trembucker" for the bridge pickup.... that way the TB-11 you're ordering will fit. Make sure you specify what controls you want, also.

A 3-ply black pickguard will have a white layer sandwiched between 2 black layers (the opposite of what you have now.) A 1 ply pickguard will be all black. If you prefer the 1 ply, and don't want it to be thinner than your current pickguard, get the .09 one. The choice of Solid Matte or Solid Gloss is up to you.

Thanks! A few more questions if you will. What's a fat trem? And if I read correctly I choose all 4 controls according to my current strat layout (because I wanna preserve the two tone volume and 5 way switches. Are they including the controls? Or just making sure it's routed for them?

The fat trembucker rather. How's it different from the trembucker option? I'll check the link! Thanks!

Ah many thanks. I am sticking with the single cool so I'll probably buy the appropriate pg. Thanks again so much for the help!

Be careful with the pickguard you buy. I've bought pickguards in the past, and had trembuckers not fit.

F-spaced DiMarzio's are not wider their regular spaced ones, but Duncan Trembuckers are wider than theirs. Most pickguards out there are only cut wide enough for regular humbuckers. Warmoth is the only company I know that can route a pickguard for a Trembucker.

The "Fat Trembucker" is rounded on the corners to more closely fit a pickup without a cover.
