I just ordered the body today as well. 2015 American Deluxe Tele body, alder, in Olympic white with tortus shell binding and bridge, neck plate, pickup jack and screws included for 399.

The Seymour DDuncan Custom Shop 53 sounds like a good idea... with a 5 way installed, you can get a traditional and beefy tele bridge pup sound.

The first thing you have to do is get to know this particular Tele's tonal personality. I would say grab a set of Tele pickups you've had before but apparently this is your first Tele? In that case, I recommend just putting in a fairly common Tele set without spending much money so you know which way this thing leans tonally. This first set is just sonic cannon fodder, chances are it won't be the set you really want, it will just tell you where the sonic land mines are. The second set will be bought with knowledge provided by the first (which you will at this point probably sell) and hopefully it will be The Set. If not, repeat...

Good point.... I was thinking about having it strung up with no electronics first and taking the time to get to know its acoustic properties, or going with some solid used pickups at first that I can use as a test set.
