This morning I got my Tapped Quarter Pound for Tele in the mail, and happy replaced the GFS Li'l Puncher in my Tele. Man this pickup rocks out! Very chunky, meaty sound, this pickup was well named, cause the first thing the tone made me think of was a big juicy hamburger. I'm kinda disappointed in the tapped sound though. The tapped tone sounds kinda muddy, and weak. I may just need to tweak my settings to get it to sound better. I have it wired as follows:
This is a standard Fender 3-way switch, with this wiring I get bridge full, bridge tapped, neck. My problem with the GFS pickup was on the top strings it sounded too bright and thin, and the distorted tone lacked some of the beef I wanted. The QP is a great pup, and my first Seymour Duncan.
