Quarter Pounder for Strat (n+m)

Hi everyone.

Is anyone using the Duncan Quarter Pound for Strat pickups in the neck and middle position of a HSS set up? One of my guitars is routed for non-keyed singles in the neck and middle. I currently have a SA/SA/85 set in there, but was thinking of going with passives. I have a Dimebucker that I'd like to try in the bridge slot, and was thinking that the QP's would have enough output to mix well while still sounding somewhat like a strat. Thoughts?

Yeah I think you're right that the QPs would balance with the Dimebucker. I have a QP between a 59 and C8 and it's fat but still a bit stratty.

They would work well. I'd use 500k pots all around for them, though. Also, know that any of the SD singles cn be ordered with a non-keyed base,, so that might open up some options.

Cool! What other singles/single sized pickups would work with a Dime? I know that Dimebag usually ran a 59 at the neck. Maybr a CR/VR or a pair of little 59's would work?

Cool Rails are a great choice, as they sound clean and clear, but still like a humbucker (sort of like a Jazz). That would be my choice here.

if you wanna retain some strat character, id go ssl6. they sound great in the neck with 500k pots

Do you think they'd play nicely with the Dimebucker?

Output-wise, sure. They will be thicker sounding than a Dimebucker.

I think a lot of single coil sized options will be thicker than the Dime. That thing sounds like a pissed off tele pickup. In a good way.
