I'm putting together a custom control plate for my American Professional Telecaster (2 single coils). Since my bridge pickup is so bright, I wanted separate tone controls for the neck and the bridge. I really wanted a 250K/250K concentric pot, but the only USA concentric pots I could find were either 500K/500K or 250K/500K. I got the 250K/500K pot (audio taper, 250K side for neck and 500K side for bridge) and I know that if I solder a 500K resister to lugs 1 and 3 of the 500K portion of the pot, it will act like a 250K pot. My question is, what value capacitor would I use? If I install the 500K resister, effectively turning the pot into a 250K pot, would I use a 0.047uF cap as you would for a 250K pot, or should I use a 0.022uF cap since it's still a 500K pot?
Thanks
