question about 7 string pickups

Hi. I have a question about pickups. I want to put your 7-strings SH-2 и SH-4 on my Shecter 007 Elite. Please, tell me if there is a difference between the magnets of your bridge and neck pick-ups? At this moment I have a DiMarzio and there is a problem concerning the positioning of the strings with the magnets. From the beginning there were stock Duncan Designed pick-ups - the same problem was there, but not so bad, as it is with DiMarzio.
Could you please give me a piece of advice on this matter?

welcome to the forum!!

im assuming that you mean the pole pieces lining up with the strings, the poles may not line up exactly but they should be very close. if you notice that one string isnt as loud as the others, raise that pole piece up and that should solve the problem

7 string pickups have one universal spacing, correct?

I've noticed the same thing and it depends on the 7 string. Like the original Ibanez Universe 7's had a really wide bridge and nut so all the polepieces aligned. Where as for a 7 string my Jackson has a really narrow nut width so it just misses the screw polepieces on the high b and e strings. Like Jeremy said adjust the polepieces if needed. Otherwise i think the loss is neglible. Other than that I dont think there is a way around. I know the polepieces on my Rio Grande Muy Grande I have in the neck are so large even though the spacing is the same the strings are still over them.

ok..jokes aside.
i dont think that is a major problem. if the string to string volume is varying, adjust the polepiece acordingly. should solve it.. no need to change the pups if you're happy with the tone

I change my pickups on my Shecter 007 - SH4 and SH1...
Sound is great!

I also just got a 007 Elite, but it's H/S. The humbucker lines up totally fine, the single coil is off a little bit, mostly on the low B string. Sounds fine, though, and I notice no loss of output. The pickups sound okay but are a little weak in output for my tastes, I prefer more gain. I'll probably change them soon.
