Question about Fender S1 switch and SD pickups

Guys,

I'm thinking about replacing the stock pickups in my American Deluxe HSS FMT Strat w/S1 switch with SD Classic Stack Plus's and a JB. Will these work with the stock S1 system? Also, tone wise, will it be a good matchup? The strat has an alder body w/maple cap, maple neck and ebony fretboard.

Yes. They will sound awesome together. I've done it in a Tom Anderson Strat and that pickup combo sounded wonderful. Use 250K pots all around. Lew

Lew,

Thanks for the info. I was planning on keeping the stock S1 electronics, hence no pot changes. I *think* the vol pot is 25k (not 250k), but that's because of the pre-amp/mid-boost circuit.

Remember . . . the color codes won't be the same. Be sure you know how to convert the colors before you hook everything up.

Long dead thread...RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!!!

I'm grateful for this guys.

I just got an American Deluxe and I can't stand the N3 pickups. I want to keep the S1 switching...I just want to throw the N3's out of a window.

Thanks folks.
