Question about Hot Stacks

Re: Question about Hot Stacks

Yes they were. I don't know too much else about them, but I did get to play them first hand. They sounded pretty stratty with a good amount of grit that would come out when you dig in. Pretty fun to play with. Would come in real handy in the studio.

Re: Question about Hot Stacks

I guess Seymour liked the color. Still have one myself, painted the cover black.

Re: Question about Hot Stacks

In that thread you linked Evan gives his best recollection of the story... It sounds plausible to me.

Re: Question about Hot Stacks

I actually called sd and spoke with a tech named Scott, and he really couldn't recall why the color was maroon,he did tell me they(the cover have been out of production for close to 20 years,

The reason for my call was to identify what the stickers on them meant 2 pickups were labeled 2nq and 1 was labeled 2bq I was curious about the q!

I did put a sound clip on that post!!

I work a lot so I just noticed new responses!

Any case I am digging them bigtime
For 1 I've never seen them before
2 they're duncans
3 I think for their age they sound better than some of my newer pickups

Re: Question about Hot Stacks

Also the guy I bought them from said he pulled them off a vintage ibanez

I won them for $63

How can you beat that??

Re: Question about Hot Stacks

I've been collecting old maroon stacks but I suspect the white stacks are even rarer
I probably should've bought this one but bought the maroon instead
Anyone seen these before?
