Question about Kahlers and Floyds.

Why does Kahler use imperial measurements for its bridges, and Floyd Rose use metric? Just where they were made?

Re: Question about Kahlers and Floyds.

Ehm, when did Floyd start giving measurements in metric Values?

The Floyd numbers I have in my head and have used for decades are all Imperial, 1 5/8, 1 11/16, 1 3/4, 10", 12", 15", 25" 24 1/4"...

He might be talking about the fasteners, as well. Kahler's always been Imperial and Floyd's always been metric.

It all started a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

Ah, yes, all the fittings and fasteners, of course. I was probably already 2 steps ahead.

You´re probably on the right track, Floyds are made in Germany where metric hardware is much easier to source, and Kahlers are USA made where Imperial is still dominant. I can´t really think of any other reason off hte top of my head.
