Question about recording KICK DRUM (phase question)

When multi-mic'ing a kick drum, do you need to be concerned about phase between the heads?

Example: I will be recording with one mic inside the kick pointed at the inner head, both heads on the kick drum, and a second mic (actually a 10" loudspeaker driver) on the outer head.

Do I need to consider the inner head as the point source for phase in this instance, or can I mic both heads without having to worry about it?

Re: Question about recording KICK DRUM (phase question)

We always had it pulled just outside of the skin and sometimes windscreened depending on the sound and mic we were using.
The angle always varied for the same reason.
Thanks. Doesn't really answer my question, but good to know!
