Hi all,
here is my setup:
* guitar : Godin artisan ST
* PU config : H/S/H
bridge : APH-1 alnico II pro
middle : SSL-1 (RW/RP)
neck : SH-1 ’59 model
* 1 volume (250K pot)
i use a 5-way swith, and HBs are splitted in position 2 and 4, to have the famous "funk" strat sound in these positions.
The 4th position sound is tremendous, when the SH-1 ’59 is splitted (i use the coil close to the bridge) : i really recommend it to get a SC sound from a HB !
=> everything sounds really great, except in position 2, where i can't really get the classic "funk" strat sound : it si too treebly and too loud. When i descrease the Volume knob, i get closer to what i want, but i loose dynamic and the sound generally becomes too dark.
Note that when slpitting the bridge HB (APH-1), i use the coil close to the middle SC with the middle one (SSL-1), which i found is betted than using the coil close the bridge.
Any ideas ?
Is the APH-1 not the good one to be splitted and to get such a strat sound ?
Should i use a regular SSL-1 (not RW/RP) ?
Thanks,
J.
