Question about Trembucker and pickguard

I just got the CC Trembucker. In my strat pickguard I had the single coil hole and I cut it myself to make the CC Trembucker fit as a temporary solution until I order another pickguard..It is severly mangled and the pickup does not sit correctly and the poles are not even lined up with the strings. Thats ok becuase I never planned on keeping a pickguard that was cut by myself that looks bad. I have a question before I order the new pickguard; Will the trembucker fit correctly in a Strat pickguard with a standard Humbucker hole? Will the screw holes line up?

The holes will line up but you may need to widen the opening slightly. Depends on the mfg

Re: Question about Trembucker and pickguard

The mfg will be Warmoth . I emailed them, but they have not responded yet.

I would like some thoughts on another issue for those of you who read this. I am scrapping the current body I have right now. It is a MIM Strat body. I have had two necks with various pups in it and the tone has always been harsh and ice picky. No matter what has been done on this guitar it has been the same result. It has to be something about the body. Every thing else has been replaced over the last few years. Maybe just bad wood. I plan to get a Floyd Rose and I am not wasting my time with this body any longer. I am going to buy a new one from Warmoth. I am not looking for a traditional Strat sound, so I am thinking about Mahagony strat body with a Floyd Rose with a CC in the bridge and my Alnico 2 pro in the neck. My neck is an American Strat maple and I want to keep that.

Any thoughts about Mahogany as a Strat body? Would it be too dark with the CC and Alnico Pro2? I am thinking Mahogany because of the Maple neck that I have and the Floyd Rose which makes it bright.

Re: Question about Trembucker and pickguard

I think a mahogany body with a CC and Alnico 2 Pro will sound great! Lots of midrange crunch and singing lead tone.

A Duncan Trembucker pickup should fit just fine in a pickguard that's cut out for standard humbuckers.

Re: Question about Trembucker and pickguard

This Strat has always been a side project over the last 2 years. Sorta like a red headed step-child. I really want to get this guitar right. I am becoming obsessed with this guitar to get it right. I have the neck I am satisfied with and two new Duncan pups. This Strat will be a two full size bucker config. I want something different with this Strat..a different sound. A fatter warmer singing tone. I am not under the illusion that it will sound like a Les Paul. My #1 is my Les Paul, but I want this Strat to have some balls with a Trem that I can use to do the wild VH type stuff that I can not do on my Les Paul. That is why I am thinking Mahogany, but I am worried that it may not be a good match for a bolt on neck type of guitar with trem.

I am hoping someone with a Mahogany Strat body will read this and tell me how it is.
