What bass amp do you use? What kind of music do you play through it? How do you like your amp (pros/cons)? Is there another amp on the market you'd rather be using?

Currently i'm stuck to playing through a Behringer Bass V-Amp and play pretty much anything through it, though my main bass style could be described as Prog Fusion Jazz. It's practical and flexible but headphones just don't give you the punch like a good bass cab.
I'm gonna upgrade to a Ashdown MAG 300 head with the matching 4x10 either next week or about mid october.
I'd really love to own a Mesa Bass 400+ and a Powerhouse 1000 cab 4x10+1x15 in one box with 1000W). Most insane rig i ever got to try and i love the tone and pure power from that combo, i just can't afford 4000€ to buy all or that, or even justify it.

thru either two 1x10" ampeg portabass cabs or an ampeg 410hlf
i love the head and it does everything i could ever need and then some. if i didnt get such a good deal on it i would have gotten a svt3pro which is what my bass player uses with a carvin 4x10"
im planning on building a 4x10" to replace the 410hlf for two reasons, 1-it isnt mine i just borrow it and 2- its freakin heavy
i wanna do something with solid woods and neo speakers

great thats all i need, more crap
its already taken over much of the apt, much to my gf's disappointemnt
i typically play blues, rock and a little funk. usually i dont use the octave or overdrive functions but every once in a while they are nice to have. having 1000w on tap is nice but not really needed for almost anything. if you are playing a show that requires that type of volume then chances are you are going in the pa anyway.
the svt3pro is 450w and a great amp, the older ones are only 350w but still killer amps. the tube gain control is a great feature. it controls the voltage to a pair of tubes between the tube preamp and ss power amp. turn the gain all the way down and the response of the amp is like an old svt with a little sag and a rounder tone. turn it all the way up and you get a fast and tight response.

as long as it looks like this its a good one. the older ones look different, still decent but i dont like them as much as the newer ones

I practice with a peavy MINX110. I play a variety of styles, but mostly alternative rock, and I try to play funk. Anyway I rock a digitech overdrive for a bit of boost and low end.
To Gig, i use a peavy TNT120, its a 75 watt 1x12, heavy basterd that sounds great. The only cons to peavys are the chubby burley-ness(they weigh a ton). But the pros is they are very dependable, sound really good for the price, and can fall out of a moving truck, fall in the ditch, float down stream, find it two years later and still plug it in.
Im looking to move to an ampeg though.

Currently I have an 80's GK 800RB head going into a Hartke Transporter 4 x 10 cab.
It's a decent setup. Previously I was running a Peavey Mark IV head, one of the great bargains in the realm of bass amp heads.
It does well by me and most certainly got the job done in a bunch of rock-based bands I have been in.

ah, Peavey bass amps are definitely a great deal for the money, especially used. a friend of mine has a Mark IV that he pushed to its limits almost every night for years, and it never complained at all.

I'm using an Ashdown MAG300 into an old 2-15" Fender cab. I wouldn't change it for the world. The Ashdown can get that oldschool SVT tone and has the best warm sound I've ever heard from a solid state amp. I a/b'd it against a GK RB800 at the store when I got it and I preferred the tones of the Ashdown. I was worried about 300 watts being enough but I've never had to turn it up past the 1/2 way point.

The SWR is running great since drilling out the holes in the rack and reversing the fan.

I play a Peavey 210 combo that's about 250 watts and sometimes I"ll drag along my Peavey 4x10 cab that I'll extension out to and bump it up to 310 watts. I really want to upgrade my bass rig sometime in the future to either an ampeg or a trace elliot rig.
