Question for people w/ texas special tele pickups?

Is it normal for these pickups to have a very minor volume decrease when switching to the neck pickup?

If not, do you think reducing my treble on my amp would help balance it out? I just had that idea and it is too late at night to plug in and see.

Decreasing the treble would probably not cause the volumes to be more even. Adjusting the pickup height balance between the 2 certainly would.

I think you should send them to me for further testing.:naughty:

I used to have a set and I miss them constantly.

I'll have to check, but I think that sounds accurate. Balancing pickup height should help.

You could lower the bridge and get more twang, and more balance.

I do believe that is normal with most Tele sets. Especially if the neck pickup is covered and the polepieces are underneath the cover.

Usually the neck pickup sounds much more dull than the bridge pickup. For that reason, I rarely used the tone control when playing on the neck pickup of my Tele.

Eventually I disconnected the tone control from the neck pickup entirely and that sounds much better to me.

Of course I do use the tone control with the bridge pickup and when the two pickups are combined.

Try connecting the tone control directly to the bridge pickup.
