Question for the Amp guys

Okay so I bought a used Peavey Triumph 120 head last week.

The Clean channel volume pot was bad. So my dad and i just took the thing apart and found that the Volume pot had been replaced and was broken.

There is a 1 meg marking on the pot but we are unsure if it is a Linier tapper or an audio Tapper. How do you know? Linier sounds right to me but I really have no clue.

Also the factory pots for all the other knobs are 3 standard prongs with 2 Stand off prongs. The replacement pot is 3 pronged with no stand off prongs. My dad said that the stand off prongs probably aren't needed but Do you know where we could find a replacement pot that had has the stand off prongs?

Please help me out here guys.

I would say that the linear pot would be what it would be.

It's probably log (audio) taper. Linear taper pots have a huge jump in the first 4 volume levels, then go up a tiny bit before maxing out. Log taper pots go up in a smooth line. This may seem weird, since if you think of the graphs of logarithms and lines, it's opposite. However, the ear hears sound logarithmically, so that changes things.

audio taper.

call peavey. they can probably ship you out the correct part. but your dad is right, you can prob get away without the 2 mechanical solder points.
