about 8 to 10 minutes for me, but i've been doing a lot of swaps lately.

+ 1 on doing it yourself. Once you learn, it is a piece of cake.

For your V , you will have to take off the pickguard and unsrew the mounting screws that holds the pickup in place. Most other guitars, you remove the pickup rings and remove the pickup from the rings.

10-20 minutes, depending on guitar and whether you insist on new strings.

One word of warning to newbies who have a tech do it for them: If you have them put on new strings, don't get upset if the new pickups sound too bright. The strings are new and will lose that extra spank and fizz very quickly so just wait a few days.
