Question regarding SD logo?

Hi!

Maybe a strange question, but I would like to know if the text Seymour Duncan is printed on all pickups, or just some?

It seems to me that sometimes guitars "claiming" to have Seymour Duncan mics doesn't have it printed on them.

If I buy it in a shop or over the web, will the TB-4 JB have it printed on it?

Most guitars you buy with stock Duncans WILL have the logo, regardless of which pickup it is. However, if you buy an off the shelf '59, it is NOT logo'd, in order to look more "vintage".

Like Chris said, most have the logo. APH-1s and 59's do not come standard with the logo, however, I have logo'd ones on order.

Yup, the 59's, APH, and it seems like one or two other "PAF" style pickups do not have logo's standard on them. The reason I learned from Evan is to make these pickups more "vintage correct", as the original PAF's did not have any type of logo on them. The rest of the SD line comes standard with the logo IIRC. As stated, you can order any pickup with or without the log at no additional cost.

I prefer my pickups to have the logo, and always order them with the logo on.

As the others have stated, most PUs have the logo.

Well, for OEM customers that use DUncans, they will gladly not use the logo if the customer desires. For example many old Washburns had Duncans in them, but they didn´t have logos.

Essentially the only way to be relatively sure is to see the baseplate

Most do, I know the SSL-1's and their P-90 series do not. They do sell the plastic single coil covers with the SD logo on them if you are worried about being called a liar though. I think I saw them for sale at Musicians Friend for $14.99 each.
