Questions About The Stag Mag Humbucker

Since the Stag Mag is indeed a unique pickup, it begs me to ask these questions.

1) Does it really sound like a single coil when split? If so, what particular model would you say it is most comparable to?

2) If the answer to the first question is yes, then does it sound the same or at all similar when wired in parallel with the coils out of phase? The reason I'm curious is because I'd like to have the single coil sound but still have hum cancelling as well.

Thanks!

Re: Questions About The Stag Mag Humbucker

We were just discussing this over here. :)

The Stag Mag sounds exactly like a single-coil when split, because it is two single-coils attached together. In fact, thats its strong point. Unfortunately, I never tried mine in parallel when I had it, but I imagine it would sound great that way.
