Questions about using Screamin’ Demon in neck

The Demon is fantastic in the neck.

- Enough juice but not too much
- Enough highs, but not screechy
- Bottom is present but not overwhelming or loose.

Great choice for neck with a Custom, 59/Custom, Distortion, JB or even a full Shred.

59 > PG > Jazz > Demon > Full shred, in order or fullness to more bright/articulate in the neck

Actually the demon is similar to a PG and a Full Shred, IMO at the same time.

How would you rank the Alnico Pro ii in that regard? I mean, I have a guitar with a JB and was already planing to put back the Distortion bridge in another one.

The A2P is naturally an awesome neck pickup. But it is the opposite of the Demon.

In the neck it is bass and mids - but surprisingly tight-ish bass for an A2 mag, IMO.
But the highs are uber fat. It would be the pickup to use if you want a wide range between bridge & neck. Or, if you like a both on position that is different than either bridge or neck alone.

The A2P doesn't really fit in the sliding scale of brightness range that the other pickups I mentioned do...

How would the screamin demon in the neck position compare to the suhr Aldrich neck? They are both overwound PAF type alnico 5 humbuckers. The demon is around 10k and I think the Aldrich is around 9k.

Thanks, I gues that is why Charvel is putting it in the neck of their 24 fret guitars.

I too have a Screamin' Demon in the neck of my new Explorer. I don't have my guitar back from my tech yet so I have not tried it out, but James Ryan did a 5 minute video with the Screamin' Demon in the neck on YouTube and I thought it sounded pretty good. I hope I like it.

I've used it for almost 10 years in the neck position, I almost forget how good it is in the bridge. Currently it sits in the bridge position of my HH tele, paired with Phat Cat. Harsh in the bridge? That's not the case. It's Screamin' Demon not Banshee, lol. Love it equally in both position.
