Questions re STC-3P

Hey all, new on this group. Can anyone answer 3 questions re STC-3P?

1. I read a couple of reviews on Harmony Central saying these are noisy, anybody have experience w/this? I am looking to run this in conjunction w/single coil tele bass style pup and am concerned about it.

2. There doesn't seem to be much info on what the "slap" control does to the tone. Can anybody tell me what happens to the contour?

3. Due to this project (51 P-Bass style), I would rather stay to the 2 control format, anybody know where I can lay my hands on a stacked 10K/100K pot?

welcome to the forum!!

i dont think the preamp is any more noisy than any other ive tried. crank the treble and youre gonna get some noise, just the nature of the beast, but overall i dont find it noisy. using a single coil may up the noise factor. ive only used them on single coil basses that had two pups

the slap is a mid cut and bass boost circut that is pretty cool for on the fly tone changes

it comes with three controls -volume (push/pull pot to turn on slap contour), a blend control (which you dont need since you only have one pup) and the stacked bass/treble boost/cut.

Thanks. I've never used active, so this is a new experience. You wouldn't know the physical board dimensions by chance? Want to make sure it will fit the control cavity prior to order.

not really. maybe 2.5" by 1.75" ? but thats just a guess
