That's a Shure SM57 centered between a Blue Dog and a Greenback, about 2 feet away. It sounds a little darker, but it's fun to do something different :)

Rockin' Stevo! I like the crunch with a hint of a damp (not wet) blanket tone ala Brian May...or maybe it's my cheap headphones...LOL Good stuff as always bro.

Re: Quick and Dirty Wankage - Plexi, LP, Custom Pickup

Ha! Now you really makes me want to crank it up... my next one will be rockin' the house!

Great tone and playing... pure Stevo signature style! :)

Man . . . loved the "grindy" rythm. I guess thats what it was. The heavy, opening part. :)

Re: Quick and Dirty Wankage - Plexi, LP, Custom Pickup

I read Robin Trower uses a 58 about 3-4 feet back. I really like room ambiance and love how it affects the vibe. It is a big change as I was historically always into close miced amps. I feel that I hear more of the sound this way instead of an isolated representation from just a few inches away.

Yes it's the SD "Custom", with the ceramic magnet. I should have clarified :) I have demo'd a few Custom shop pickups also.. thanks for the question.
