Quick basic winder question

Hi,
I know I should know this but don't. If you gave a good P'up winder two sets of pickups, exactly the same, plate, A5 mag (just to pick one) same bobbins, slug and pole alloy, but no wiring at all, can said winder make a scooped mid pickup or a mid heavy pickup, just because of their knowledge in how to wind things! Not asking how, just if. Given the same starting point.
Thanks, just curious.

If given the freedom to choose the wire gauge accordingly, Yes.

Joey Voltage,
Thanks. Shows me just how talented and experienced you gotta be to do that!

One only has to look at the Duncan A2 PAF strength line to see what can be done even with the same gauge of wire.

Well, with a programmable CNC winding machine, to a certain degree, it's a yes. If wound by hand, less likely.

HTH,

Re: Quick basic winder question

even two hand guided pups could be wound to sound pretty different. obviously a cnc machine has more precise control of the coil wind but even i can make two very different sounding pups using the same wire
