Quick Earvana question...

Alright, a few parts I ordered for my current project came in today, including an Earvana compensated nut. Now, the problem is, the nut has places for 3 screws, but there's only 2 screws in the package. Is this normal, or do I need to get a hold of Guitar Parts Depot or Earvana to get the third screw?

Re: Quick Earvana question...

I don't know mang...........but quick hijack!

Got your package today! Looks very cool, I'm going to go give it a whirl as soon as I'm done loitering in the forums!

Have you tried one out yet? What do you think?

Fretfire, whats your current project? Strat project still?

Oh heavens no ;), the Strat was finished about a month or so ago I guess... check the link in my sig for pics of it. This is a whole new beast. Sort of a take on an Ibanez JS model, at least it will have that body shape. Some major differences though:

-Black limba body, clear gloss finish
-Black limba neck/Ebony fretboard with abalone dot inlays
-22 frets/25.5" scale/10" radius/Wolfgang back shape
-Hipshot hardtail bridge/Earvana nut/Sperzel tuners
-Duncan CC/AIIP pickups

I'm planning to use all black hardware, and the guy cutting the body and neck for me says he will do the All Access Neck Joint instead of the square Fender-style joint the Ibanez JS has. Should be killer, I hope to have the body and neck here in the next 6-8 weeks.

It'll be similar to this, but it will be hardtail, have a matching headstock, and will have my initials on the headstock instead of "Roman" ;). I found this pic about 2 weeks after I started cooking this idea up, I was excited to see something along the same lines.

bump, anyone know the answer to my original question? Where's all the Earvana guys ;)

Re: Quick Earvana question...

That should be killer! I like the looks of that limba. Planning on using nitro or poly for the body?

I think the people I'm working with use poly...

You should be fine with the two screws.
But just for 100% I would say to get the 3rd screw and mount the nut for use while you wait for it.

That's a good call, I'll get an email in to GPD and see what they say. I just didn't know if these things always come with just 2 screws, or if I got shorted. Thanks.

They come with 3 screws. I was looking at them myself. Looks like a cool idea, so let us know how it goes :)

Cool, I have an email in to GPD, we'll see what they say. Thanks guys.

Re: Quick Earvana question...

I imagine the place you got it from will take care of it, but if not, let me know. I have an extra screw. The last Earvana nut I ordered came with four screws.

Thanks man, I assume I'll hear back from them sometime this week, I'll let you know if they don't come through for some reason.

Same thing happened to me. I emailed the music company I bought from and they sent me the extra screw. It did work fine without the middle screw through. It's you call.

Cool, thanks for chiming in :).

Re: Quick Earvana question...

Guitar Parts Depot got in touch with Earvana, who will send GPD some screws and they will then pass one on to me. Thanks again for the offer Ryan, I appreciate it.
