Quick question about guitar repair services

For my birthday, my parents took my Epi les Paul to my local shop to get some new pickups (59/JB), and a rewire. I was going to do it myself, but that was part of the gift.

I was wondering.. what do Techs do with the original parts they replace? For example would I be getting my old Humbuckers back?

I have never used a repair service on a guitar before besides my first string change (actually it was the same guy who did that).

You may have to ask,but they should give the parts back,IMO.

A reputable shop will return the old parts even if they are replacing broken parts.

Ok, I wasn't sure what was normal

If it's not in the bag, I'll ask him if I could get the parts back. They would work great for a later project.
